Seemingly if you live in Vietnam you can earn more money playing video games than becoming a teacher.

According to a report in the Viet Nam News gamers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can earn up to VND2.7 million (100) per month thanks to the boom in power-levelling and gold farming.

Wealthier gamers with little time to grind out level increases are paying other people, usually students or the unemployed, to play for them.

Gold farming in MMO games is already widespread across China and it now looks like Vietnam is following in this profitable, if unusual industry. The report adds that companies are now springing up in the major cities offering their unique service.
