Distant Hope - New York and Scoring System Update
A development update has been posted for Distant Hope with a detailed report on one of the maps to be included in the mod, set in New York, and some information on how matches will be scored.
The New York map for DH is being designed on a large scale, with two key locations currently announced - the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building - with more to be detailed in later updates. The team’s lead mapper has been working hard on the lighting to create what they describe as a “dark” and “gritty” atmosphere.

The scoring system has been defined as working similarly to the one in Battlefield 2, where teams begin with a set number of points which wear down as players are killed. The first team to reach zero points loses. Also as in BF2, taking and holding capture points will increase the rate at which your enemy’s score decreases.
Be sure to read all about the new map and the gameplay mechanics on the website.
