The HL2 Wars team have posted a progress update on their website containing screenshots and an impressive in-game video of a furious battle between Combine soldiers and an ant lion swarm.

The base building content is far from complete, with train models acting as placeholders for the structures, and there are no sound clips for clicking on units, but the core RTS gameplay seems intact.

A new single-player release (requiring an installation of Half-Life 2: Episode 2) is on the way. The team are asking for applications from modelers and voice actors. If you’re interested you can apply in their forums. You can view the progress update here.
