(Our Own) Eternal Silence 3.0 Preview
Whoever said that flight simulation and space combat couldn’t be done on the Source engine clearly has never seen Eternal Silence. The latest version of Eternal Silence (version 3.0) offers many bug fixes, addressed lag issues, and a visual overhaul that gives the entire game a much more enjoyable feel. I had the chance to play a few rounds with some of the boys in the office, and here’s a bit of what I had to say:
Eternal Silence doesn?t borrow much, if anything at all, from Half-Life 2?s original packaging in any area of the game. What you see when you hop into a game is the product of years worth of development by Crankshaft, not Valve.Eternal Silence 3.0 is set to launch Friday, June 6, 2008 at 8:00am PST right here, and only right here on the GameSpy/IGN network. To be sure to keep your eyes on Planet Half-Life for the launch, and to know what you’ll be getting yourself into when it comes, be sure to read the full preview article.
