In the newly added QuakeCon Guitar Hero III Tournament, there will be two competitions for a total of $5000 in cash. One for 2-player teams, and one for singles. The prize breakdowns are as follows:

1v1
1st - $1000
2nd - $700
3rd - $300

2v2
1st - $1500
2nd - $1000
3rd - $500

Matches will be played on the XBOX 360 using the original Guitar Hero III. Controllers will be supplied, but players may also bring their own. Qualifying matches will take place throughout the day on Thursday in the registration hallway. The top 16 scorers in the 1v1 competitions and the top 8 teams in the 2v2 will advance to the first round of play on the Trinity Stage on Friday.
