CGS Final Details Announced
Championship Gaming Series (CGS) has made public the details of its inaugural World Final which will take place between between the 6th and 14th of December at the Sony Studios in Los Angeles. There will be a massive prize purse of $1,000,000 of which $500,000 will go to the World Champion Team.
The event will become an annual platform for the worlds best gamers to compete, and it will be broadcast to over 350 million viewers by a whole host of broadcasting companies. For those of you in the UK, you will be able to watch the the CGS unfold on Sky One, Sky Two and Sky HD. Those of you in mainland Europe will be able to view the event, but no deal has been struck with with any broadcasting companies yet. Meanwhile, people in the US will be able to watch it via DIRECTV’s The 101, people in Asia can watch on ESPN, Brazil and Mexico can watch SKY and DIRECTV will cater for the rest of Latin America.

The CGS World Final represents a watershed moment in the history of pro gaming and we are proud to broadcast to more than 350 million viewers globally.
Fans worldwide will soon find out which team will claim its place as the first CGS World Champion and take home the top prize of $500,000.
In addition to the team based element of the competition, top players from each of the six regions represented will compete in their own games to determine who is the champion of that particular game. There will also be a 2v2 World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade (WoW:BC) taking place, with American and European pairs battling it out for a chance to win a massive $30,000. Both of the finals will be webcast at thecgs.com on December 8th.
The PC games at the event will be Counter Strike: Source (CSS) and FIFA 2007, whilst the XBox 360 feature Dead or Alive 4 (DoA4) and Project Gotham Racing 3 (PGR3).
Each of the teams will be made up of ten people, and then split between the games. Five players will make up the CSS teams, Fifa 2007 is played one on one, DoA4 will be comprised of a mixed doubles team, and PGR3 will have 2 members from each team competing in a 2v2 race format.

As previously mentioned, there will be a massive $1,000,000 to be won, spread across the various games.The winners of the CSS tournament will take home $500,000, the winners of DoA4 will receive $5,000 each, the winners of PGR3 will also receive $5,000 each and the FIFA 2007 winner will also take home $5,000. The 2v2 WoW:BC winners will take a massive $15,000 each. There will also be cash rewards for the teams who finish between 2nd and 12th in the CSS tournament, as well as a $25,000 prize for he MVP.
The event begins on December 6th with a press conference, before the first round of games begins, which will continue on until the next day. December 8th will see the WoW:BC tournament, as well as the individual world final. The Quarter-Finals will take place between the 10th and 11th, with the semi-finals happening on the 13th and the finals on the 14th.
