Starting today and lasting until January 6, 2008, German Steam users (that is those who actually live in Germany will be able to play Team Fortress 2 free of charge. Simply install the Steam client if you have yet to do so, then head to the Steam website to begin your download. German and French players can now watch the Meet the Heavy video in their native languages as well.

With a little investigating, our friends over at TFPortal.de have uncovered the 36 new medic-specific achievements that will be in upcoming Team Fortress 2 updates.
